Needing to replace thirty year old speakers.

I have a thirty year old pair of Canton ergo 80 speakers. I

never felt they were that good. My current system includes

a Chronus magnum dark integrated amplifier, a Cambridge

audio can v2 streamer and two Svs 2000 pro subs. The

Chronic dark replaced an Adcom 555-2 amplifier and an

Adcom 565 preamplifier. I always thought the Adcom

equipment sounded harsh in the upper midrange. The

Chronic solved that problem. It is better than the Adcom

equipment in every way. I like speakers that are slightly

warm sounding but still give detail. My budget is around

$5,000, maybe a little more. What speakers would sound

good with my setup? If a recommended speaker allowed

Me to delete the subs, my wife would be happy 😊

I have the golden ear top of the line and even thier old definitive technology sc 7000 prior to the selling the company and starting goldenear. I still prefer the moab tekton . ITs a great value for the money. Enjoy the hunt. I have several reference level speakers and the tektons sit next to them and sould right there.

IF you go to TMR in Erie, near Denver, there seem to be quite a few dealers in the area

Near Denver, any good dealers there?

perhaps we all need to relocate to Colorado

Responding to six. I've been reading great things about ProAc d20r. I can't find any brick and mortar or online stores for them. Any ideas?

Crescendo Fine Audio apparently carries ProAc and has stores in the Denver/Boulder area that may be well worth the trip.  They also seem to carry Revival Audio speakers (among others) that’d be worth auditioning too if you can get there.  Hope this helps.
