Any 300B Has A Bit Warmer Presentation?

Would appreciate any thoughts on currently available 300B's that tend to be a bit warmer than average 300B in sound signature. I have a system put together that is nearly perfect but just a touch more warmth would put it over the top and the two 300B's are the only remaining avenue to find that. The rest of the system is optimized, otherwise. Budget is up to $1000.00 a pair, absolute max. A lower price would be preferred. Thanks for any assistance with this.

i mostly agree with AI based on paying close attention to a wide variety of reviews of 300B's over the years. My experience in regards to warmth with Acme and new production WE is that WE slightly warmer, sweeter than Acme. @nightfall Interesting you bring up quality with WE, I've had two new production (2024) WE's go gassy in the past year, this in amps that have run Psvane Acme and Shuguang Black Bottles without issues, each well over 1,000 hours. Also, build quality of Acme superior, much thicker glass, weightier, pins seem superior quality and internals look more robust. Very disappointed with WE quality, and still unsure whether they'll warranty second bad tube, we shall see. Also owned Audio Note Quest mono blocks for short while, same sound quality ratings as my reference amps.

So, I'm looking for the exact same warmer signature in a new set of 300B's, based on my research at this point I'd pick Takatsuki, but I have concerns about reliability having seen a few failures out in the field.

Psvane Acme are likely the best value higher end 300B tube out there, I wouldn't go back to mid tier and lesser 300B tubes, a decently resolving system will expose the cheaper stuff as clearly inferior. I'd save my money for the more expensive tier vs short term saving with lesser tubes.

@thaluza I wasn't aware that Charles had moved on from the EML to newer production Elrog, interesting.

Try the Shuguang Black Treasure Series 300B-Z. . A warmer tone than most of the moderate priced 300b's .

@sns it was the opposite afaik. Elrog to EML. He was having quality issues with Elrog. I recall he was effusive in his praise for the Elrog though, when thety were working.

I bought an extra set of Takasuki 300B tube… for when they needed changing. Then I did research on their life after reading about the long life of other 300B tubes. Takasuki 300B have an expected lifespan of 20,000 hours. Yes, as in any tube, there can be an early failure… but that’s a long time. I would purchase without hesitation. They are truly amazing tubes. I have probably 1,000 hours on mine… simply stunning.

I would look at buying these tubes more like buying a component than a tube.
