Streaming questions

I have finally given in to pressure and decided to start streaming. I joined Qobuz and have started putting together a playlist which I assume will be no problem to play in my car with the Qobuz app. I would appreciate some recommendations for the streaming device that I will use with my home system. My gear is midfi: Revel Performa3 206, and Rega Elix-r integrated. When I get the streaming device how do I get it to play my playlist which I generated on my Mac? I am completely clueless as to how this all works. Greatly appreciate your help. Thanks

I was a hard line CD guy. I held out as long as I could to stream. I didn’t get it, didn’t understand it, but most of all couldn’t get past “renting” my music. When I finally gave in and bought my first streamer I was BLOWN AWAY! Life changing! It’s true you’ll never look back. I also have Revel’s and started with Bluesound Node and it was just stupid simple to set up and be off and running. I now have an Eversolo DMP-A6 Master and LOVE IT! Eversolo seems to have a bad rep on here but I have had mine for almost 2 years without a single hiccup-love it! Highly recommend it…

I will also mention Bluesound Icon as well. I have that in a second system and love it.

Even though both units have excellent internal DAC’s, I use outboard DAC’s for both

Just do it. Dive in headfirst you’re going to ask yourself why you didn’t do it sooner!

Good luck!

"I have finally given in to pressure and finally decided to start streaming"  What pressure?  Happy listening.

It’s becomes a scary world when you start screaming or should I say streaming.

I use Tidal Connect, but Qobuz Connect should be similar. I bring up my WiiM Ultra app, choose Tidal, find the music (or playlist in my personal library) and hit PLAY. Easy.

I would think most other streamers that support these "connect" apps would be similar.

You'll just need to figure out how much to spend on your streamer/DAC.

As others note, the WiiM Ultra sounds pretty good for the price, but given your system, you might want to spend ~$1000 and get the Bluesound Node Icon with its "dual mono DAC configuration" that might sound better.

Others on here will guide you to Lumin, Aurrender, or Innuos if you are willing to spend $4000 to $10K on a streamer/DAC.

Others will say get the Bluesound but later on buy a standalone DAC to replace the one in the Bluesound.

Main thing is that you are finding streaming to be both useful and enjoyable. Have fun.

You guys are great. So much useful information to consider. My friends, who value sound quality, have been on me for a long time to give up the CDs and start streaming. When I switched from Pandora to Qobuz I started putting together a playlist and realized I was not able to really take advantage of their high resolution recordings. I believe this is going to greatly increase my listening pleasure. Thank you for your help.
