What’s playing on your turntable…. Does anyone care?

When l was in a previous discussion l questioned the value myself if l would want to tell anyone what l was listening to. I have always wondered why do some posters feel compelled on a regular basis to tell others what’s playing on their turntable?

What makes someone want to do that? Personally l fail to see the point. So l have posted this question to others to test if there’s any curiosity value in it. What would an analyst make if it all. Is it a form of attention seeking?

mylogic

I personally think it's self-centered and irrelevant what other peoples are spinning, assuming that they unprompted shares it.

I just don't care.

However, if someone asks "Can you recommend 10 great jazz records for someone who wants to get into jazz?" that is a completely different situation and I think valuable and interesting.

I appreciate the sharing.  Music is an exploration for me.  Just last night I had a listen to a Nils Frahm album someone posted up.  I can’t begin to count the number of times I have done this.

Good to stand back and have a look. All is not always as first thought. Even better for a second, closer one. Your appraisal looks sound judgement.✔️

@jpwarren58  “John Prine”

l never realised until today that John Denver’s “Paradise” was a cover version. A case of being aware of a song, but not its origin.
