What’s playing on your turntable…. Does anyone care?

When l was in a previous discussion l questioned the value myself if l would want to tell anyone what l was listening to. I have always wondered why do some posters feel compelled on a regular basis to tell others what’s playing on their turntable?

What makes someone want to do that? Personally l fail to see the point. So l have posted this question to others to test if there’s any curiosity value in it. What would an analyst make if it all. Is it a form of attention seeking?

@slaw

Thats a +1 from me.

Sharing tastes is mutually beneficial particularly if the artists are not just bullet points.  Some reasons and observations add value and open up a discussion.

However if just an artist(s) name is posted on it’s own, (l have not read yours, so I’m not implying you), it is just lazy correspondence.

Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me.

Getting to know you,
Putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely
My cup of tea!

Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy.
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say.

Haven’t you noticed?
Suddenly I’m bright and breezy
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I’m learning about you
Day by day.angel

My Marantz SACD player is playing on my TT and on that happens to be playing Elephant Revival. Humans have shared music with others for as long as we have shared anything. It might even be one of our most human traits.

@jmalen123 ”human traits”

Many 10’s of 1000’s of years ago, l believe bongos ruled. The drums not the animals. Communication….. in forested areas.

Your post has reminded me of the opening track, “Procession” from The Moody Blues album, “Every Good Boy Deserves Favour”
