Cryo Treatment: does it provide improvements in sound or longevity?


I'd be interested in hearing from audiophiles that have actually tried Cryogenic treated tubes and listened to them vs non-treated. 

I would really prefer not to hear from folks from a theoretical point of view, or that have no experience.

The last time I bought a set of tubes for my amp, just for fun I got the Cryogenic treated ones. They are replacements on my Audio Research Ref 160s. My KT150s were approaching the end of life and I heard them getting hard sounding. So I switched them out. The new tubes immediately restored the amp to its beautiful normal sound. I heard no difference from Cryo... although if it was subtle... no way I would... this was no purposeful comparison. I guess I'll have to wait 3,000 hours to see if they last longer. 

Just wondering if someone with good equipment and a trained ear has done listening tests (not measurements) and made a conclusion.

I have no experience with tubes and I'm only theory. But cryo puts the atoms back in thier lattice structure and let's the electrons flow better. I've cryoed many things,gears,crankshaft, and speaker wires .good luck on your search and enjoy the music.

Using an Audio System is all about the Signal being produced being as unaffected as possible from ither influences.

The Signal Path to the point it meets the Speaker is also considered the next most important area to have working as an optimised route. The sent signal will not become a different signal as it travels, apart from increasing in gain as it undergoes amplification.

Wire is a conduit for the signal to pass through.

Cryogenic treatment of a Cable is claimed to improve the aligning of the grain structure that is a Wire make up. A cable with improved grain structure, where the alignment of grain is optimised, enables the signal to travel in a way that is least impacting on the electronic and allows the signal to travel as close to the whole as possible.

The idea being less noise is being generated and less smearing selected within a End Sound.

I myself use wire that has a grain alignment considered outside of cryo' treatment being utilised.

It is hard to deny the effects of a wire when the End Sound takes on a much improved structure, as a result of exchanging from wires without a design in place to optimise the grain. 

The full benefits are only realised when connection of the Signal Wire is addressed outside of the Chassis and wire type used within the Chassis has a grain that is optimised.  

The following very desirable Traits that are detectable in very well structured End Sound, will only be discernably realised when the Signal Path is optimised to produce minimal noise and artefact.

Attack - Coherence - Dynamics - Micro Dynamics - Envelope - Timbre - Tone, are lost to many a design for a signal path. 

Who wants to see a Football or Soccer matched played out in a Quagmire.
