The Best Budget Streamer with Built-in DAC

A list of the best streamers with built-in DACs. The Hifi Rose RS250A is really at the limit of being considered budget, but it's just good value!

Let me know which streamer you would add to this list

I will rule out Wiim Pro / Pro+, everSolo A6, baed on the experience using them.  Wiim Ultra is good with a decent DDC.  I don't have exposure with Marantz or NAD and not seen reliable reviews on them.

I will recommend MXN10 (owned), Node Nano (too many hypes to pass it) and HiFi Rose RS250A (if you got that disposable fund).  You could home audition the first two comfortably during the upcoming holiday season for an extended return period.  If not satisfied either one, before jumping on hifi rose, consider Node ICON.  I think the budget list should at least include ICON (watch the review from TAS)

Node Nano - best bang for the buck entry level streamer and you can power it from a linear power supply thru the USB-C port. It made a good source with USB into a Holo Cyan 2 as well.

Node Icon does sound better but with $1k+ I would start looking at some higher end used gear.

Eversolo is overhyped and shitty power supplies in some models that seem to be failing a fair bit. Although the T8 model does look to be built to a higher level.

I just got an Aurender A1000 on here for a good price. Will report back after testing.

TMR has some used A100 with warranty for good price but I think it has the older software (no Tidal Connect etc).

Used Lumin D2 are well liked by many for around $1k right now but pretty no frills. Just good sound.

The Orchard Audio PecanPi+ Streamer Premium at $1,500 includes balanced and single-ended outputs and a headphone amp. It uses a top AKM DAC. I have not heard this myself, but the specs are great, and I have heard Orchard's amplifiers, which are excellent.

I’ve had a good experience with the Wiim Pro which I gave to a friend and a Bluesound Node N130 which I use in a second system.  They don’t sound as good as my separate streamer and DAC in my main system but they sound good and are relatively inexpensive.
