Aurender N20 upsampling with tambaqui

Hello guys,

I am setting up my new combo of N20 and tambaqui over aes cables and doing some fine tuning. Tambaqui being a fpga based Dac, does some cool upsampling and processing. I was using the N20 functionality of upsampling of 48 to 192 for qobuz stream over conductor app.

I found that aurender upsampling was pushing vocals forward and making instruments more recessed.. difficult to describe ... has anyone has any insights with upsampling.. this is my first time trying any kind of streamer/Dac based upsampling..

I was using AES connection. But now I have changed the power cables and things are much better. I have been using NOS. Will try upsampling. Found both these units very sensitive to power cables and conditioner

I am not a fan of upsampling anything. I prefer having everything to play natively. I have my N20 connected to my Tambaqui via USB to be able to play 352 files and not limited to 192 via AES

Upsampling can be very good, or not good at all, depending on the system and how it handles the process. We can talk theory all day long but ultimately it's best to try out your different options and see what you like. Since you already have the gear anyway, should be a fun experiment. I imagine two listeners could try the same system and come to very different conclusions, there's no wrong answer here.
