High current amp search

Hello, so as the title says, I'm looking for a 200+ wats amp (8ohm) that will double it's power down to 2 ohms but importantly also check all the audiophile boxes so strong, articulate, fast bass, smooth resolving mid-range and extended non fatiguing highs. It's proving to be rather difficult because hardly any manufacturers list  output into 2ohms. Budget is around 4000$ so I'm looking at mostly used. Besides something like the Krell FPB 300/400 CX which can be had for that much , what else can be recommended?

Threshold Stasis; any model really.  For example: Stasis 2: 6 amps continous; 25 amps instantaneous.

Have Jon Soderberg dial it in; look out!  Everything is more than factory.

@muvluv,

I agree! I have a Crown Studio Reference 1 amp, damping factor is 20,000 great amp  see here. For in the what it's worth category, no speaker needs a damping factor greater than 100. 😎

Thanks for suggestions. Speakers are definitely staying, I adore them. And are irrelevant. The amp has to be able to drive any speaker I may acquire in the future. The argument that high current amps are somehow less refined or relaxed sounding I'll take with a grain of salt since most high end amps out there ara high current designs. No one is paying those prices for amps that sound strained. It fact it would be a low current amp that will strain with harder loads. I refuse to compromise on sound because a speaker is not an easy load. High sensitivity speakers have their own drawbacks. It tubes and SET's are your thing, great. They're not for me.

If the speaker dipped to 2 ohm or 1 ohm.....here's an easy solution

a) Get a permanent marker and some flowers.

b) Write in caps "YOU ARE AN IDIOT" on the speaker's front, sides and back.

c) Return the speaker to its daddy churning away idiot speakers from his garage and get your money back. Remember to pack the flowers with the speaker box.
