I have my ART20 installed in my second home system where it does sound quite good to me. Unfortunately I have no frame of reference for comparison. It is installed in an SME 3009 Series II, which was rebuilt last year by SME Canada. TT is my old HW19 MKIII that I have had since new. While the system is quite enjoyable, it does not really stand comparison with my main system. All these favorable comments force me to consider taking the ART20 with me when I return south for the winter so I can more fully understand it.
Recommended a highly resolving cartridge
Hi all, all tube system that is warm with a good midrange presence inherently. I’m looking for a cartridge that offers high detail / resolution and wide / deep soundstage. This is on a stock SL-1200G TT. On a side note, if anyone has experience “upgrading” the stock tonearm on a G please chime in. I’ve read conflicting reports of the merits of such a move, and while I’m very happy with the tone of my TT and am not looking to move off of it, I am curious about a tonearm swap (must allow for headshell swapping).

Glad you are enjoying your ART20, I wish you lived near enough to hear it both your place and mine. $400. this Shure V15VxMR body is in their US Warehouse, they say no duties https://samuraiaudio.com/products/shure-v15typevxmr-mm-cartridge-stylus-not-included $300. You can buy a new SAS/Boron stylus from Jico or LP Gear https://www.jico-stylus.com/product/vn5xmr-hg-sas-b/ review of the combo (I have this exact combo, and a boron/line contact by VAS on Shure's damped brush, Jico's brush is not damped) https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/shure-v15-type-vxmr-phono-cartridge/
