New Type of DAC

I just read about the new Immersiv D-1 DAC.  From what I have read it has a tremendous amount of dynamics compared to traditional DAC's.  It actually has two DAC's the cover lower db and upper db and then it is put together somehow with DSP.  It sounds pretty cool just want to here if anyone else has read about it or actually listened to it?

@kofibaffour Yes I know about DAC's with several chips etc...  Did you read about it?  I read several articles last night and this is something I haven't seen before.

This concept is similar to the active crossover design used in commercial products such as the miniDSP Flex (two-way) and miniDSP Flex Eight (three-way). The active crossover implementation is actually superior to using a single DAC with multiple chips, since the filtering (LPF / BPF / HPF) and slope parameters can be set up and applied prior to the D/A conversion in the active crossover.

Not sure how this would work. HDR-A photography originates when the picture is taken -- multiple photos are taken at different exposure levels then blended.   A DAC is processing a digital audio file long after the "picture" has been taken.  Not saying its not a good DAC, but their analogy is not very good.
