Congratulations! Looking forward to reading your review!
Does any Audiogon member have a Holbo air-bearing turntable?
I am fascinated by the Holbo air-bearing turntable with its linear tracking air-bearing arm and air bearing platter system. I have not read an unfavourable review, and many reviewers recommend it as a reference-level turntable at an audio bargain price.
If you have one, what has your experience been like? What country are you in? Is yours the Mk1 or the Mk2? What was the set-up experience like? What cartridge(s) have you used, and what would you recommend? How do you keep it clean? Has it been reliable?
Looking forward to hearing real-life experiences!

@lewm They are made in Slovenia. |
Forgive me, but some citizens of the USA are pretty notorious for poor knowledge of geography! That seems to extend from the top down, even though FLOTUS is Slovenian born! For example, my adopted country Australia is often confused with Austria, although their capital cities are almost 10.000 miles apart. Austria's capital Vienna will be the future home of the "Munich" high end audio show. The drive from Vienna to Slovenia's capital city Ljubljana, where Holbos are made, is under 4 1/2 hours. Munich is about the same. Venice in Italy is even closer, under 3 hours drive. So Holbos come from an area rich in classical and operatic musical tradition. Home of many beautiful things in fact. |
