@earthbound Exactly. I find music I have never heard on my computer throughout the week and then binge them on the main system on the weekend. Some are keepers, some are not. But what an adventure it is for an old retired single person. Usually, it is the well recorded that remain on the play list. With so much to choose from why play poorly recorded material? |
There are a handful of LPs that I turn to depending on mood. When stressed I will play the Sveshnikov Russian recording of the Rachmaninoff "All night vigil". The Vespers portion of that truly can calm the soul. Similarly the Ockeghem Requiem. When I need catharsis - Mahler 2, I have several versions but the Levine CSO is my LP of choice. In a reflective mood the Mercury Starker cello suites are a frequent choice.
