Need help finalizing what speaker to get

Hi. I just got an RT85 turntable with a Schiit Mani 2 preamp, and now I'm looking to get some decent speakers to go with them. My original budget was around $250 but someone told me to hold out more for something better. I've got my eyes on some Wharfedales but still cant decide because I'm seeing mixed reviews talk about it being well detailed but at the same time too bright. My main goal is to get a grand loud sound because I want to mainly play it in a large open room. I'd like all my equipment to compliment each other so I have the rt85 with the M2 Blue, the Mani 2, and now I want some good speakers so that they all work well together but just need some help from real people to finally decide on a speaker. Thank you!

tbh I’m surprised too now that I think of it lol. I think I didn’t go straight to Fluance because I did for the Preamp, but did some research to find the Mani 2 that I got. I’ll check them out though thanks!

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of great things about Elac and right now, the Debut 3 is at the top of my list. I’ll search this site to see if i can find any preowned stuff for whatever speakers I decide on too thanks!

I’ve never messed with the inside of my guitar/sound equipment yet but if this’ll make that much of a change I might start now if I decide on it. What kind of change would that specific capacitor make?

OP:

First, you'd learn a lot.  The feedfback I've seen is that the tweeter caps are kind of harsh sounding, a Mundorf MKP replacement can mellow it out a bit.  The MKP line is ~ $10US or less, so it's affordable experience.  And if that still doesn't work, a low value (0.5 - 1.5 Ohm resistor in series with the tweeter will.

Ok interesting. I like the sound of opening them up and changing parts so I’ll look into that a bit more to see if the end solution lines up with what I’m looking for thanks!
