@liquidsound Couldn't have said it better! @kirk9 I really wish that was the case. |
True. My setup would not pass muster for most here but it sounds great. |
When I had my system in Virginia (same system as now here in Florida), the only difference is the room. We retired here to a smaller home with an equally smaller listening space. Ie... 15 X 18 ft then versus 10 X 12 ft now. In Virginia, it took me the better part of a year to get the room acoustics sounding right with different amounts and placement of attenuation and diffusion. When I was finished, I could discern switching out any electronics or cabling and their sonic nuances. I couldn't really do that without the room treatments. I have challenges now discerning those nuances in equipment much less cabling. Yes... The room size is quite different, and that attributes some to the acoustics. I have not yet gotten the room treatments/speaker placement sorted out yet, but every little bit I do is getting me better sound. So, I'm a firm believer in getting the acoustics/placement right for the best sound possible in my new space. In my opinion, exotic upgrading can't be appreciated without proper acoustic balance in the listening room. |
