Help with EarPods.

Can anyone suggest a pair of high end EarPods that will be good for classical music?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I also checked ChatGBT for their recommendations.
They touted the Bowers and Wilkins EI8. Wonderful sounding.
I’ll try to compare them with your recommendations.

I need some clarifications.

  1. What is your budget?
  2. EarPods is a term not familiar.  Please clarify.  AirPods is a trade mark of Apple for a number of models of wireless in-ear headphones.   EarBuds is a general term for either wired or wireless in-ear headphones.  Do you desire wireless or wired in-ear headphones?

I only use in-ear headphones for casual, mobile, non critical listening.  While wireless in-ear headphones have improved greatly, I have generally found them notbto the SQ potential of similarly priced wired in-ear headphones.  Therefore, I cannot recommend wireless models.  If you are looking at wired products I have the following recommendations:

  • Sure SE846G2: A pro model, rugged construction, flat, clear, detailed sound, good staging but not as good as below.  This is probably not a good choice for you for based on your system and posts, I believe you like a warmer sound.
  • Fiio FT 17:   My current in-ear phone.  It’s a new model.  Don’t get the  old FT 15.  It will probably be too bright for you.  Excellent build, very rugged, sweet, warm, detailed but not aggressive,  excellent bass, deep and wide staging.

OK AirPods 3 Pro. I can never remember their name. They sound great... also work well. I sent a pair through the washer and they sounded great after they dried out... they were also clean. Integrate seamlessly with phone. They can work as hearing aids and now do real time language translation. Automatically reduce volume if you speak. I use them at least three hours a day. I’ll often leave them in with noise cancellation on and not listen to anything... it just reduces the ambient noise no matter where I am. I ride my bike down a big hill every day hitting around 35 mph and never had them fall out. And they are comfortable.
