audphile1, i'm not that good with descriptions. plus i don't know if my set up is audiophile enough for audiogon,
(6000 cdt to cos engineering h1 headphone amp connect to lsa hp-1 headphones.)
anyway this morning i decided to finely insert the generic T1AL 250V ceramic fuse i got from ebay. and put some mad scientist graphene contact enhancer on the metal parts on the fuse.
and well the generic ceramic is definitely better than the generic T1L 250V fuse that was in the player(that may have been put there by original owner. i don't know...)
hmm only 8000 hours more of burn in.
but yeah already some vocals are clearer. feedback and static have never sounded better. ;)
maybe something better happening tone/timber wise too.
this *isn't* a make everything sound more beautiful/make everything sound so much easier on the ear effect happening. and that's cool with me.
things are a bit faster. and more than ever placement and size instruments can change. not just from song to song. bit from section to section of a song. it's always a surprise. :)
but this is supposedly placebo, nah...
something is happening and didn't kick in until i placed the generic ceramic in the player.
hmm i really haven't listened to many discs. so far literally just three.
sonic youth's 'daydream nation'/ wednesday's 'twin plagues' and eric's trip 'purple blue' so yes i have the wrong cds/the wrong fuse/ the wrong equipment/ the wrong ears... ;)
as i said i just made the change sometime this morning. but it's definitely improving with only having a few hours of play under the belt.
anyway audphile1 this is on you. yes i was hoping to avoid my lame attempt to describe what i'm hearing.
or even have to tell what else is in my "system" ha ha.
as i listen i'll just click my heels and just say "it's just placebo/it's just placebo."
and i spent like $5 and got 7 fuses. so nope, i'm not pretending because the price is factoring in.
and if it's placebo why couldn't i trick myself into hearing this sound. before i put the fuse in ????
anyway no idea where this ends up. so much more burn in left. and i the mad scientist stuff just in itself takes a long time to totally settle.
have i embarrassed myself enough ????? :)
i'm suspect a acme silver cryo fuse would be better. but i may not even get the value right. if it exists at all. ;)
but this generic fuse is pretty cool.
oh and if i ever get the money/ the sparkler audio s515t cd transport would be my object of lust.
ok, placebo kids it's cool to kill me ! :)
