Voltage conversion of Accuphase DP-450

Does anyone know how to convert voltage of Accuphase DP-450 100v to 110/120v?

Let me know if you're still trying to find an answer to the question how to convert an Accuphase DP-450 CD player from 100V to 120V. I have one unit being converted for me in Japan as I write this reply, and a couple of pictures were sent to me with the 'before' and 'after'. I can attach them if needed.

Basically, switching the position J1 to J2 will do the conversion. I was told that the J1 sets the 100V, the J2 sets the 120V, and the J3 sets the 230V.

Aftermarket modifications not only void the warranty, but Accuphase will never service a grey market unit.  Never.

They will only service units that came through the distributor in the country they were made for.  If  you buy a used unit it can be serviced by Accuphase even if there is no warranty as long as it was bought in the market it was made for.  The warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferrable when sold to a second owner.

Accuphase will only service a unit that was originally made for the market it was originally made for.  They will never touch the grey market units butchered by unauthorized after-market players who may - or may not - know what they are doing.  Buyer beware!

First of all, I regret buying Accuohase products. For the very same reasons highlighted by 'toronto416'. Now it's too late to change anything. If I was a little bit smarter, I should have bought a MacIntosh 6500 for an amplifier and a McIntosh MCD85 for a CD player. The main reason I went for an Accuphase E-4000 amplifier and DP-450 CD player was that I really like the way they look. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about MacIntosh. And still, now I would advise potential buyers to stay away from imports.

Having said that, if Accuphase wants to penetrate a larger segment of the US market, they need to review and revise their policies. Not everybody in US can afford to spend $20k (USD to be specific) for an amplifier + a CD player. That is nearly the price of a car!

If somebody bought an Accuphase product in Japan and had it shipped to US, Accuphase is still the manufacturer. Why not service it, if the customer is willing to pay? There are lots of excellent Electronics Maintenance & Repair shops in US who are happy to take over the business from Accuphase. In my opinion, Accuphase is missing out. And with the new duties and tariffs kicking in, Accuphase may become a distant memory.
