which audiophile fuse for the audiolab 6000 cdt ????

i've read of people changing their fuse on their audiolab 6000 cdt transport.

but audiolab, mentions using a T1AL 250V fuse for those of us in the 120v regions.

well, when i look at audiophile fuses. i never see a fuse in this value.

and i always see the mention of the fuse change with no mention of the fuse value.

just mentions of the brand of fuse. ;)

so are their audiophile fuses that are T1AL 250V or are people substituting  different fuses ? sorry i don't know anything about fuses.

so if any one can help. :)

Typo on my part S/B 250V (not mV).

So - 1 amp, slow blow, 250mV (again check me on this-;).

I just looked @ Acme and didn't see "V" listed.

The "T" is for timed or slow blow, but not certain what "L" is.

thanks, again for the insights.

looks like this fuse issue, might be one of the mysteries of the audio world. ;)

You might try a  "ceramic"  Plain Jane T1AL 250V fuse for fun.

I tried one in an Audion amp (in place of a glass envelope fuse) and it did sound better to me.

I got change back from a dollar when I purchased it 20 years ago, so maybe 2 dollars now.

i actually got a generic ceramic  T1AL 250V  from ebay. i think it came all the way from china. ;)

i haven't tried it. just growing frustrated with never seeing the value when i check audiophile land. and i figured it ask.

maybe if i get the generic cryo'ed it's half way to being an "'audiophile" fuse. ;)

thanks for your time and concern. :)

i've never heard of audion until your post. (i'm soooo out of the circuit) and i just looked at a couple. fancy/fancy, i'm sure they sound great. :)

When I purchased an Audion Silver Night 300B SET retail was $2500 (my used unit $1250) so times have changed.

It would blow a fuse if we had a quick BrownOut until I added surge protection.

This said, it used high voltages and I've never "tried" different fuses in lower voltage gear.

Hopefully The Fuse Guy will chime in.
