Most listened to artist

If you had to guess, which 10 artists have you listened to the most in your lifetime?

Meaning every time you've selected a particular artist's 8-Track, Cassette, LP and CD at home, in your car, at a party, at the beach, wherever.

Mine, in no particular order, would be: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Kinks, XTC, Elvis Costello, Kate Bush, King Crimson, David Bowie, Brand X.

Over the Labor Day weekend channel 26 on SiriusXM was playing the Fan Favorite 500 songs. That channel is for vinyl. The listeners had previously taken a poll.

Led Zeppelin was the number 1 group. The Beatles, as a group, were number 2. If you combined the group and individual efforts they would have been number 1. A little bit over 50% of the 500 songs were from UK groups/people. The USA was in the low 40%. Did not hear who was in the single digit difference. I was driving back from Chicago to Las Vegas over that weekend. It was a great drive with my era of music playing. 😊

Probably Tom Petty, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, John Mayall, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Police, BB King, Neil Young, Buena Vista Social Club, James Taylor.

Nice to see so much great classic rock artists on the list!

That said, Johnto wins the most unpredictable entry:  Shostakovich in between Hendrix & CSNY! Well done!

King Crimson

Pink Floyd

Loreena McKennitt

Dead Can Dance

George Crumb

Miles Davis

Theivery Corporation

Carlos Santana

Beethoven

Henry Cow
