Jay is building two sound rooms in Texas. Receiver

I think it's very exciting to have two sound rooms being created that is gonna be filled with the best possible audio gear in the future.  I don't know why he needs 2 sound rooms.  They are really big. It's like he purchased a car wash because it's got huge garage doors on both sides that he is converting.  Maybe the structure was used to house a large semi truck. He's afraid of being sued for construction work and wants to be very careful that everything is being done correctly I guess Texas is very litigious.. Don't they have lots of flooding in Texas maybe he should elevate the structure.

Is it good to have a cement foundation underneath the sound room?. I'm not sure about the tall ceilings. I hope you find a place for a pool table.

It's not a showroom it's literally two sound rooms.. I love watching creations in process. I don't see a bathroom being installed . I didn't see a sink so maybe they can put a refrigerator in with plenty of hydration while they're listening to Music. I didn't see heating system maybe it doesn't get cold in Texas and HVAC I didn't see. It's a pain in the ass constructing something.

Where is he going to store all his used gear that's on his website.? Is this a commercial business does he need special zoning for this? Is he building a parking lot next to the sound rooms? Maybe he bought a farm and this was used to put large tractors in. The garage doors are massive.  Is he going to continue growing crops on the property?

What is everyone talking about Jay doing “reviews”? Can someone please provide and post a link to video of Jay doing anything that resembles a professional “review” of a piece of equipment or a system or anything? Jay is a “gear head” that has figured out that he can monetize some people’s lust for big ticket components. Jay started in the car & truck parking lot meet world and has parlayed that same recipe to audiophile world. Jay is the guy that gets to play with the components that his viewers aspire to and sadly will never own. Clearly he is monetizing on lust and on strong arming dealers, distributors and manufacturers into industry accommodations loans and discounted components that he can then resell, after pumping them up on his channel, for a nice profit.

Jay has found a way to make money and at the same time a way to play with some pretty exclusive and price restrictive components. My only issue with Jay and his followers is that he believes with the sound of his systems as they believe that it is always phenomenal and in almost all cases I find the sound dry, clinical, and devoid of musicality.

As they say, don’t be swindled. An expensive system that is past off as a good or great system should sound exceptional.

My son and I have had the opportunity to meet Jay @jaysaudiolab in person two times.  My most recent interaction was with him today at the @nextlevelhifi showroom in Wayne, IL.  I have also paid money and benefitted from his consultation services.  Anyone that is a naysayer or describes his PASSION as "hype" hasn't really taken the time to get to know him and really understand how he has and is helping audiophiles.  Does he "call out" bs whether it be one of us, or a manufacturer, maybe even a scammer?  Absolutely, and that's exactly what this industry needs!  In fact, we need more people like him that invest their own time, money and self which ends up benefitting all of us in the long run.  Other than trade publications (which we have to take their word) how many independent sources do we have? How many people do you know that go through the trouble of finding meaningful products in the marketplace, buy them and review them in a forum where we can all see and hear with our own eyes and ears exactly what he is being talked about.  Jay literally buys a product, puts it through the ringer, gives an opinion, and then lets us see and hear how he arrived at his conclusion.

Back to my son, why does my 17 year old like Jay?  Because Jay takes a special interest in him on a personal level and asks insightful, meaningful questions to him and actively engages him.  My son sees that Jay has a thirst of curiousity and genuinly wants to know things like, why so few people from his generation have an interest in this hobby.   Jay knows that it's his generation we need to engage to carry on this great PASSION we all share.

Lastly, if Jay, were as some describe, he wouldn't waste his time talking to my son!

Interesting question. I listen to Jay’s reviews occasionally, and watched his latest show referenced above. We have different tastes in equipment. I don’t aspire to the power levels he fancies, but his passion seems genuine, in my opinion.

Hopefully Jay’s followers will get to enjoy the sound rooms. Since they’re the ones paying for it.
