sleeve city diskeeper inner sleeves
Has anyone tried these? I bought my first set and am so impressed at the build and quality. They have a heft and don't feel nearly as flimsy as the MOFI or Quality Records sleeves. They have a clear area where the label is on both sides as well. I have used the MOFI sleeves for years and they always seem to crease and fold on themselves, but I always thought they were the best available. Sometimes they even arrive in the packaging creased with ridges. I contacted Music Direct about this and was informed that the creases wouldn't damage the vinyl. Nonetheless, it didn't seem optimal. They also slide into the jackets much easier, although now I place the records outside of the jacket inside an outer sleeve. They are a whopping 12 cents more per sleeve than MOFI. I'm sold.

FWIW, I found the Ultimate Audiophile sleeve, although excellent, was too bulky to fit into some jackets. This was particularly a problem for older jazz records that I collect, but can even be a problem for new records from some labels. The 2.0 Diskeeper sleeves seem to be more practical and they are much sturdier than the MoFi ones. |
@billstevenson I don't collect much before the 60's so I haven't had that problem. After reading a post here on the outer sleeves, I have adopted placing the record/inner sleeve outside the jacket with the outer sleeve aperture leaving the spine of the jacket bare. The theory was less static generation. It also seems a lot easier to just slide the inner sleeve in and out |
