Accuphase vs Luxman

@fire_water Dig your room. Wow. Great vibe, Well done. Take a bow. If you can stand it, then curtains on the glass and some other (wooden) sound treatments would kick the sound up a noticeable bit. Ironically likely the most improvement for the least amount of expenditure.

There are so so many great tube integrateds and separates to consider especially as you don’t need big power. My system pages shows what I’m partial too but that’s just me, just another voice on the interblab.

For tubes....If money no object, then Lamm. Air Tight is close to Lamm but more affordable followed by Shindo or vice versa. Pathos and Manely are good too. The Spatial Audio Lab low powered mono blocks and pre AMP will make your Klipsch LaScalas zing. There are many other fine low powered set amps too.  At the least upgrading the crossovers and adding a pair of subs will rock your world. As I said above Klipsch LaScala can be upgraded or maybe something like, Volti Audio , Wolf von Langa Speakers or bigger Tannoy’s would further rock your world.

For Solid State your Accuphase would be hard to best.

If it were me, then I would do some room treatments first and think about the rest after.

@wsrrsw hey thanks mate.  You are right about room treatment.  This has been something I've been struggling with because I like the room the way it is but I think I'm ready to explore some options.  Maybe I can start with some really nice heavy suede curtains that will go with the character of the room.  Possibly a wooden diffuser between the 2 windows above the components.  I'm sure i can design and make something. Thanks for all the recommendations.  I honestly didn't think my initial post would garner all this enthusiasm by very qualified and dedicated audiophiles. This has been very educational for me.

all the photos are identical, thus all those sellers are trying to sell the same unit on commission. I sometimes see different sellers showing the same Luxman PD444 Turntable, identical photos and descriptions ....

One seller says 'no ship to usa', another seller says free shipping to usa, 

Is it noisy?

Ad says: Luxman just inspected .... photo of receipt for just under $400. usd; and it has not been played since.

I would want seller to hook it up, play it, test for any noise, confirm it is completely silent, in writing as a condition of the sale.

I am about to sell my Fisher 500C Receiver, it WAS dead quiet after I overhauled it, zero hum or noise in any of the controls. I have to confirm that is still true as I let it sit around a while after VAS aligned the FM tuner for me.

I’m gonna test all the tubes again, hook it into my main system, alternate to the Cayin A88T which is dead quiet (as is my mx110z tube tuner/preamp), and buyer can come listen to it, I’m not going to ship it. I’m between NYC and Philadelphia, someone can come here for it.
