Accuphase vs Luxman

Interesting comment. If you have an amplifier that's overkill then there's a valid excuse to buy new bigger speakers and a new home to accommodate the bigger speakers lol. This hobby is endless!

Having spoken to a local Luxman dealer who also knows my current set-up,  he feels that moving onto the Luxman M10x + C10x might not achieve anything and possibly a setback, and moving onto a Luxman CL-1000 would prove to be too much trouble and $ for maybe only 1% improvement.  Who knows

I love my LaScala AL5 speakers and so does my wife which is odd (she could care less about hifi but absolutely loves these LaScalas). I think they are just as beautiful to look at as they sound,  subjectively to me.  I did demo the Fyne Vintage 15 and JBL 4367 . The Fyne was very lush and romantically engaging while the JBL was boomy (bad room and demo).  But I chose my LaScala speakers and here I am today. And yes I should try tubes. 

I demoed the cl-1000 vs the c10x and it shouldn’t be considered in same conversation as c10x.   First off it simply doesn’t match well with the solid state amp imo. It has its own sound and when paired with the m10x it’s like there are two pieces of gear that are not coherent with another.  The cl-1000 needs a tube amp to sound it’s best. With solid state it is meh and honestly a downgrade to the c10x.  But with tube amp, very realistic sounding and almost Accuphase like sound. Sounds pretty high end but I’ve heard better components with that high end tube sound for less money that are less colored and sound better

This is a really good constructive observation.  AI needs to hear this!  That's why I don't buy anything without having a proper demo as it's s an expensive journey. Thanks for the input.
