Local network HiRes storage and player

Looking to learn the best method for storing high resolution music files locally on your hardwired network and playing into a stand alone DAC>PassLabs system

*Currently I run an Eversolo A8 into a Luxman DAC and stream music. Looking to add local storage to have high res files stored locally.

1) Is it best to have separate storage device and player (two separate devices) which would then run into the DAC?

2) Or is there a good quality combo device that you have experience?

The Eversolo has storage but I am planning to replace it so it may be nice to get something that does all three tasks (a) streaming (b) storage (c) playing network stored files

All expertise with being a streamer and file storage user is appreciated focused on two questions - 1) what is best way of doing this device wise (separate eveyrhinf or combine) and 2) what devices are you using?

lastly, are FLAC files the ideal format to store or is there something better?

This has been debated previously. Assuming they have exact same files music player apps cannot have different sound quality, bits is bits in the transmission from these app servers to our modems. The difference in sound quality comes from the streaming chains we employ.

I’m very happy with my Innuos Zen Mk. 3, the version with CD ripper. You can also transfer HD files via network or USB drive. I have had some issues with DSD files getting split into two albums, but this can be remedied. Online support is good. The Sense app is excellent. Sound quality is great. Seems built like a tank.

I've decided I'm going to either go with the new INNUOS STREAM3 or AYON S5 Network Player and Streamer

does anyone have experience that would point heavily to the INNUOS over the AYON?

This will be running with a Pass Labs XP22>Pass Labs XA30.8>Cornwall IV system.

I was set on the AYON because I was thinking the tube component may add a nice touch to the system but then I was looking at the new INNUOS STREAM3 and it seems to have seriously good qualities and it does kinda make more sense for my system as I run a pass labs preamp and don't need the preamp component of the Ayon streamer.
