8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC

Penned some thoughts on my experience of why I invested in an Uber expensive DAC and how it turned out (more to come) , https://audiofool.substack.com/p/8-reasons-why-you-should-buy-a-50000

Hopefully you find it entertaining.

Brickbats, bouquets and anything in between most welcome.

I watched a programme the other night, which I believed was about the modern method of expressing oneself through the Internet as a Influencer.

Lets say the programme turned out to be about an Influencer with Benefits wink wink.

Cut to the chase 33 000 Subscribing Followers this Influencer had @ $10 a Month as a Following Subscriber.

The how about the with Benefits Bit, as the Influencing gets side track and requests are being met, in coming floods if Tips are being electronically sent.

One Influence session with a large amount of Hits, with the Tips that are sent, can bring in over $50K.

Does anybody think an individual getting a Base Income of £330K per month and for 45 minutes of their time within that Month being Spent Influencing creates another $50K, is going to express any concern at a $50K purchase. It will be recovered in one or two more Influencing Sessions.

What is mad, is that my witnessing one persons Interaction with the Internet and creating a revenue, is equivalent to a Cigarette Paper Thickness of what really occurring.

Economies could recover, Free Medical Bill To All, by Stealth Taxing Tips sent for Influencers side shows.  b

A $50K DAC will sound like apcray unless you buy that $94K power cord everybody is talking aboutlaugh.

@ghdprentice +1. My experience is similar-I try to do my homework and with one exception, every significant upgrade has brought significant improvement, speakers and room treatments rendering the biggest yield.

Everyone has different tastes, and financial circumstances-if mine allowed me to make a bigger investment and I did my homework, I'm pretty sure there would be improvement. Best sound I ever heard was from $850k speakers_I'll never get close to owning them, but good on those that do-they own a fabulous product, and I don't resent them a bit.  Doesn't mean I can't love what I own.

I can't judge the DAC in question-I'm not one of those audiophiles possessing the ability to know how equipment sounds, particularly to someone else, when I've never heard it. I know for some, spending 50 or 100k on a DAC is not that big a deal financially. I certainly am not qualified to judge the spending choices of someone whose circumstances are far different from mine. For the great majority of the human race, spending $5k, or even less, is unaffordable or frivolous-wealth is always relative and taste is always subjective. So, I'll leave the critique of how people choose to spend their money to others. Not my business.

I'd like to hear that DAC though.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
