the kefs even the q11 offers superior performance over the polks
the kefs uni q design offers numerous advantages over these other designs:
uniform dispersion for a truly exceptional sound stage greater clarity over non concentric designs as smearing is minimalized.
the kef r11 are the clear winner here https://www.soundstagehifi.com/index.php/equipment-reviews/1300-kef-r11-loudspeakers

OK, I think it all come down to the R11 meta. The R700 reviews got me worry. The xover point between the tweeter and the mid got me worry from Erin measurement. The Q11 is not it. I found its bass to be a bit loose. It seems like there are some stored energy which leads to the bass sounding blurry. A lot of people said the same thing. The Martin Logan is just a bit too bright. There are just too much treble energy. And the bass goes deep but does not quite have the definition of the R11. The SVS, based on reviews, a touch too forward. Erin and Absolute sound say the same thing. The B&W treble is just a bit too much as well. So as I said it comes down to whether I am willing to pay $7K for the R11. It is a bit too much money. Getting good sound is not cheap. The cheap ones tend to have issues here and there. |
