Your last concert was to see who and when?

Pretty simple, what and when was your last concert?

By the way, I posted some links under the way-too-unimaginative discussion name of “livestream concerts”, providing digital membership info for the San Francisco Opera and a couple major jazz venues.  If you have any go-to sites for streaming live music (livestream or On Demand), please add them there!  The jazz sites both offer a monthly option, so you can check them out for under $10.  The operas are $28 each.  Jazz at the Lincoln Center also offers lots of educational material.

It’s been a typical month for us on the concert scene, with some jazz, trad, & classical:

Kevin Sun Quartet (jazz) 4-21-25 Big Easy, Petaluma

Alasdair Fraser & San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers (traditional Scottish fiddling) 4-27-25  Jackson Theater, Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa Symphony, Orion Weiss, Young Women’s Chorus of San Francisco (Gershwin Piano Concerto & Holst’s The Planets) 5-4-25 SSU

The Price Sisters (bluegrass) 5-6-25 house concert, Petaluma

Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band (jazz) 5-9-25 SSU

(SSU = Sonoma State University)

Waksman; couple of weeks prior Alan Parsons and the day before Steve Hackett

Steve Earle - Last Night -Sunday 7/6/2025 - Ludlow Garage - Cincinnati, OH

Solo Acoustic Show. Fantastic! I've seen Steve Earle at least 10 times over the last 25+ years, including his solo acoustic set at this same venue a year ago. That show a year ago was fantastic, and somehow he managed to top it this time around. The guy is 70 years old. I don't know how he does it. I don't know too many artist that continue to improve as they age, but Steve Earle is definitely still on his game and is maybe even better today than ever. Highly recommended.

Not really a concert (but there was a DJ), but I saw Dave Chappelle on his farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio on Saturday - 7/5/2025. Fantastic show at a unique venue.
