Bad idea?

I really don't want to spend over $1000 for a pair of speaker cables especially when I don't need them 8 ft long. Would it be a bad idea to buy just one cable and cut it in half. One side would be bananas with the other side bare wire?

Thanks

Build your own if your confident enough, check out the site https://www.tnt-audio.com/int.html

I built the TNT system rack which looks and sounds superb and two different types on mains cables. Some good DIY projects for the winter months

OP,

That is the correct thing to do. Try them. If you do not feel they are worth the sound quality they provide, then you shouldn't buy them. Ultimately that is the test.

@bzawa yes, there are that many dishonest people in the industry. There is no regulation, they can claim whatever they want. Stop listening to them, or even me, and go listen to blind tests for yourself. Not a single person in these forums would be able to tell the difference between a coat hanger, and the most expensive snake oil Audioquest cable on the market. People who deny that just have confirmation bias/endowment effect. The human brain is a powerful thing.
