Even though Rush is no longer a group, the oldies stations still play them and that's just another good reason not to listen to the oldies stations.
Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?
For me there is one that has always been top of the list.
Edith Piaf…..l just can’t think of anything worse.
Do not get me wrong and consider my choice is in any way racist….l love to listen to music with songs in any language… Italian, French, Spanish…..
Russian and German can however be extremely demanding, but Edith Piaf (if possible in any language) is a potential harrowing experience.
Do any others on here have a similar artist, or artists that can trigger the same physical reaction?

Dylan, Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Miles Davis, The Beatles? Well, I guess there's no accounting for taste. I think with some of the Springsteen haters, it's political. It's hard for me to imagine someone not being moved by the songs on The Wild and The Innocent, or Born To Run. Watch the Hammersmith Odeon concert from 1975, or concert footage from 1978, when he was in his 20s, and let me know who's a better performer than that. |
Back in the ’90s I heard a Sarah McLachlan cover of Solsbury Hill on the public radio station I listened to back then and I thought it had a neat sound so being a bit OCD I went out and bought a whole crapload of Sarah McLachlan CDs. She has a very nice voice, but basically most of those songs sound the same to me. I guess it’s not that I cannot listen to her, but I don’t feel any desire to. CCR: another group I have two (theoretically "audiophile quality") CDs and I cannot tell you why. For the most part I would now put The Doors in that category as well, including the two DCC CDs by them I have. |
