Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?

For me there is one that has always been top of the list.

Edith Piaf…..l just can’t think of anything worse.

Do not get me wrong and consider my choice is in any way racist….l love to listen to music with songs in any language… Italian, French, Spanish…..

Russian and German can however be extremely demanding, but Edith Piaf (if possible in any language) is a potential harrowing experience.

Do any others on here have a similar artist, or artists that can trigger the same physical reaction?

Wow, great question...

A. I was astonished how bad Prince's music is.  I played Purple Rain, and without disclosing the title or artist, my wife yelled from  the kitchen "Make It Stop!".  Normally she is very tolerant, even engaged.

B. Diana (makes my skin) Krall

C. most Dylan

D. the queen of it all - Ono Yoko ;-)

there are others, but until another time.

Funny stuff.... Thanks!

I will never understand all the love and admiration for Joni Mitchell.  I have two of her (theoretically "audiophile quality") CDs which is two too many.

. . . just about anything by The Beatles makes me turn the radio off or look for another station.

Even though Rush is no longer a group, the oldies stations still play them and that's just another good reason not to listen to the oldies stations.

Dylan, Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Miles Davis, The Beatles?  Well, I guess there's no accounting for taste.  I think with some of the Springsteen haters, it's political.  It's hard for me to imagine someone not being moved by the songs on The Wild and The Innocent, or Born To Run.  Watch the Hammersmith Odeon concert from 1975, or concert footage from 1978, when he was in his 20s, and let me know who's a better performer than that.
