Is anyone here still into live concerts these days?

Concert Ticket Prices Are Expected to Keep Rising in 2025 and Beyond

keeps me wondering if it's even worth it anymore (smaller live music venues excluded as they don't typically charge as much)

It's been tough since COVID. Used to go to several shows a year, would pony up the money to see bigger bands. Once did a VIP thing to U2, 2 tickets were almost $1k. Also had side stage GA to The Rolling Stones. Think that was a $250 ticket back around 2017.

When COVID hit, so many shows were canceled, it just keeps going. Had 3rd row center for Rage Against the Machine, canceled, Foo Fighters, canceled, Black Keys, canceled, along with a few others.

Now almost any show is $250+ that doesn't include fees. Learned that you pay for 3 tickets but only get 2. It's 1 ticket worth in fees.

My kid has discovered K-Pop, been going to all the shows. Some are cheap, some are not. My kid has started to go solo to a few, it's hard to spend $800 on 2 tickets to see a K-Pop band.

Going to see Nathaniel Rateliff and Joe Bonamosa in February, back to back shows. Tickets for them were reasonable.

I recently saw the band Amplifier do an online concert.  Just them jamming in some house.  Very enjoyable.  Only cost $8.  Seems like the way of the future.

I don’t attend too many anymore, but lots in the past. I pick and choose these days, with unique shows or iconic venues getting the nod. I caught the last two Dead and Company shows at the Sphere this last summer. The shows were great music-wise, and the venue, visuals and sound are spectacular. Drove out to Red Rocks a few years ago to see one of our local bands play, also very worth the trip.

Saw ELO, The Stones, Alan Parsons, Iron Maiden (2 times). Last year.  A lot of money but music is a passion/hobby. My friends spend much more on golf and cocktails than music.

Here in Phoenix there's quite a variety of acts that come to town. I'm with several other poster that prefer smaller venues. My favorite is Celebrity Theater with seating capacity of only 2650. No seat is more than 70' from the stage and it also rotates. The last show I remember was a trilogy of acts that included Tom Rush, Al Stewart and Alan Parsons. Next up in April is Graham Nash. Been attending concerts there for more than 60 years, through several name changes that included the Travelodge Theater and the Star Theater. The larger places are such a pain, but for the bigger names, one must endure the obstacles. The last few attended were Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Jackson Browne, Rush and others. The smaller venue has hosted Zappa, Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys, B.B.King, John McLaughlin and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Z Z Top, The Firesign Theater, Harry Chapin as well as many others thru the years. My very first show was The Rolling Stones back in late 1965 and I have kept a record of all the live shows attended that provide me with a multitude of great memories.
