JBL 4367 = Sleep Denervation

Post your opinion once you get them. I thought they sounded good out of the box but feel like the bass improved with a bit of time on them. The highs above 10k seem to sound better on tweeter axis rather than above it so you might need small stands depending on your seat. If you get too high or low the highs roll off a bit. Similar to toeing out the speaker.

As for subs, I don’t think this speaker needs subs, but subs do improve the sound. I have my speakers about 5’ off the wall and highpass to subs at 60hz-ish. Without subs I find the bass below 40hz a little light in my room. For an absolutely seamless sub integration I used a 24db slope on both sides at 37hz. This is a very “audiophile” sub setup. But I enjoy 60hz+ more as I like the slam the sub system brings. Without the active crossover I could not get the subs to blend well (measured/listening). With the active crossover on the subs more or less dropped right in.

if you place them closer to the front wall you can probably bring up the 30hz range but will make a dip in the 150hz range. Just have to play with it.

almost a year of ownership of the 4367 and my day one opinion of them has not changed. I will probably keep them until they wear out. Maybe I will add new speakers down the road but plan to just keep these regardless. I will be upgrading my sub system this spring if I can swing the cash.

I’m dealing with the same issue, but for me, it’s all thanks to the 4349s. I got them purely by chance. I made an absurdly low offer that was rejected, but the seller’s counteroffer was just as ridiculously low, so I ended up hitting ‘buy.’ When they arrived, I plugged them in and haven’t been able to stop listening ever since. I’m driving them with a Sonance DSP 2 750 MKII, which also happened by chance—it was the only amp available that night when the speakers showed up. The sound from these speakers doesn’t feel like it’s coming from them at all. It’s as if someone is sitting right in front of you. They're towed in just slightly, and the clarity of the voices is so crisp, it brought me to tears. I don't even know why, but I cried. These speakers are so impressive that I moved them into our bedroom. My wife was not happy at first, yelling and threatening, until I played her favorite song—Toni Braxton’s Un-Break My Heart. Then she started asking, 'Where is that sound coming from?' It felt like someone was standing right in front of us. If the 4349s can do this, I can only imagine what the 4367s are like. By the way, our main speakers have always been McIntosh XR100s, which are amazing. But what these JBLs deliver isn’t just sound—it’s an experience. For now, the speakers are staying in our bedroom, as my wife insisted.

Good to hear, I have not heard the 4349 but want 4 of them for surrounds... I watched a YouTube video about their Synthesis home theater speakers and one of JBL’s engineers (I forgot his name) said the 4349 was his favorite speaker due to it being the best priced to performance. Saying it sounded a lot like their top of the line synthesis speakers (SCL-1) for 1/4th the cost.

I would imagine the main difference in sound between the 4367 and 4349 is the lower crossover point of the 4367 at 700hz vs 1200 for the 4349. The dispersion is a bit different too (less narrow on the 4349).

I feel even the larger 4367 is a bit lean in the lowest octave. I ended up switching my subs to a pair of JTR RS1(18” sealed subs) I am high/low passing at 65hz with a 24db slope on both sides of the crossover. I tried both higher and lower crossovers for a while and ended up 65hz. This gets the kick drum into my subs where they shine and does not mess up the great mid bass and upper bass of the 4367.

I have the speakers about 5’ off the wall in a large room. Pushing them closer to the front wall might bring up that low bass a bit.
