Demise of "Audio" magazine

Anyone know what really happened here?? I am going to miss the October issue of Audio...

At least Audio had the class to offer a replacement magazine, unlike Fi who took my 3 yr. paid subsrciption after their last issue....Its too bad as Audio had its own unique approach which I thought was well done, I will miss them.
The thing that really gripes me is that their new look and change in emphasis was giving us more reviews by people one could have some level of trust in, no longer those who had never reviewed a poorly designed ____ (name any piece of equipment). Now we are going to get a magazine in placeofit that most of us didnt want in the first place.
My Fi subscription was replaced by The Audiophile Voice. Not the best, but usually worth the read. I still like Robert Harley, but his reviews do seem more compromised at TAS. Maybe it's just that he's gotten older...
i too mourn the passing of one of the best long running magazines. i subscribed to it since 70 or 71. there were ups and downs, bert whyte!, etc, ahc, and toward the end it becane actually one of the best. there was always quality even when the thing went to pamphlet size a couple of times. the oct issue was worth the price of the subscription, im still lookin for the bazoom 1000 amplifier by lirpa. i for one am demanding all of my money back from s and v as i objected to the big push for 3yr renewals jukst before audio went under. i reallly dont like s and v and only renewed because it is cheap. i had written ankoso a ratther stinging letter that he called "mean spirited". as tav, it was better than nothing in place fo fi but there wont be any renewal from me. what is recommendable beside stereophile, and tas? llistener is wimpy in content for the most part, sensible sound only reviews v15Vs and van alstine products. bound for sound? is tan still on the air? goodbye old friend, wish the defibrillator would work this time.
The Inner Ear is a decent read, but I don't subscribe. HFN&RR is interesting also, but hard to get all the way through...
