I use an IEC/Powercon adaptor from Voodoo Cable on my Audience power conditioner, so I can use other power cables. Works fine.
Powercon connectors for AC
I am curious if anyone has direct experience insing any of the Powercon AC connectors? I need to change out a power cord on an older tube amp and it is far easier to make a round hole than creating a square hole for an IEC receptacle. Any drawbacks to the Powercon connectors?

The Powercon is a locking connector. ... you can’t use other after market power cords. you are stuck with the powercon type power cords and most manufacturer do not make powercon power cords ...Wireworld made up a Powercon for me, no problem. |
Cleeds... no doubt! i am big on Powercon connectors but beside Wireworld cables who is willing to do the powercon connectors on the power cords. not alot of manufactures believe in powercon, they are mostly use for pa or outdoor systems. i should say most of the time you would find that most audiophile equipments are made with iec plugs. |
