What is the best software to play hi-res files?

I've been wondering what type of software to use to play flac files.  I got suckered by the Pono Hi-res player and now their software is gone.  I had a trial of audirvana, but never got to try it out before it expired.  Now I'm trying JRiver, but it is way to complicated to figure.  It imported my entire iTunes library as well as the flac files and I can't figure how to sort by file type.  Any suggestions?  Help.
