It is not a built in bi-amp situation. The woofers simply use an electro-magnet in place of a permanent magnet. I would expect these speakers to be very selective of partnering amplifiers.
Utopia EM
So I have been thinking about the new JM Utopia configuration with the electro-magnet drivers. I am thinking lower end of the line and used, so the dealer is out. Am I right in seeing this as a built in bi-amp situation where all you need to drive are the mids and highs? The crossover comes with it already set? All the low end gets is a line level from your pre-amp via the crossover? Anyone experienced this? I would think it would make for some fun amp choices because they are pretty efficient. Thanks
