In the 6 to 10K price range, I would look for a gently used Esoteric or DCS player.
Upgrading 18 years old Audio Research CD3
I’m wanting to upgrade to a new CD player that would be a significant sonic improvement over other old CD3. After reading reviews and recommended products, I’m considering a factory refurbished Audio Research CD6SE or a Marantz SA-10. I wanted to see if any of you have any experience with either or might recommend something better. Budget is ~ $6K - $10K. I have a Levinson 5805 and Aerial Acoustics 7Ts. The CD6SE cost more than the amp.
