Songs That Sound the Same

I was in the gym today, and bless them, they play different musical genres from time to time. They were playing 60's music and an old Tom Jones song, "Delilah" came on. I noticed immediately that most of it sounded amazingly similar to Fastball's "The Way". My kids and I like to find songs that sound similar, such as:

Tom Jones "Delilah" and Fastball "The Way"
Steve Miller Band "Take the Money and Run" and The Spin Doctors "Little Miss Can't be Wrong"
Elvis Costello "Pump it Up" and The Escape Club "Wild Wild West"
Intro to The Cars "Just What I Needed" and The Ohio Express "Yummy Yummy Yummy"
ELO "Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle" and Mott the Hoople "Jerkin' Crocus"
Of course, George Harrison "My Sweet Lord" and The Chiffons "He's So Fine" (Harrison lost a plagarism lawsuit over that one.)
Intro to The Who "Pinball Wizard" and The Shocking Blue "Venus"

I am sure there are many others. Any ideas? Thanks.

At the moment you've got "Blurred Lines" and Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" in the news due to a pending lawsuit. George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" and half of Jimmy Page's songs were subject to similar legal action. Harrison lost - and IIRC (and it's possible that I might not) Page settled quietly more than once.

My own observation would add Pretender's "Time The Avenger" vs The Outsiders' "Time Won't Let Me" and Deep Purple's "Rat Bat Blue" vs an Allman Bros tune (title eluding me right now) to the list. There are tons more....it's just the nature of rock/pop music.
