The older ones are balanced, the new ones are not. I like the older ones but the new ones handle more current. My philosophy is use an older 300/600 etc and connect devices that load the unit to only 1/2 its potential for dynamic headroom. I really feel a P-300 for sources is all you need. Use a passive device on your power amp like a Gray or something. Good luck.
