Please help on tonearm upgrade for an Avid Volvere

Hi - I currently own a modified Rega RB300 arm and willing to go to the next step for another arm - plese check my system below.

The Volvere has armboards for an SME and Rega-like arms - but there are many nice options out there from Moerch to Hadcock to Graham - but not sure if that decision will get me into a nightmare of drilling and the like.

Dear Fernando: If you are thinking to stay with your today cartridge or a change for the great XV-1 then the SME could be a very good choice.

IMHO a tonearm selection depend more of what cartridges do you want to use than in which TT.

Fernando: Otra buena opción es el DV-505 con el cual no tendrías que hacer ninguna modificación al " arm board ".

I know the Avid range are built with the SME in mind and I have seen thhem at shows with the 5. There should be synergy with SME if they were designed with the SME.

Raul - Does the Dyna arm fits on a Rega armboard - or on the SME?

Dear fernando: The 505 fits in any arm board because you don't need a hole to mount it. It comes with a rectangular flat base ( with four corner holes for screws if you want it to use it) that you can set-up with a double sided tape and that's all.
