THANKS FOR ALL THE INFORMATION .I AM CONSIDERING TO PURCHASE
THE SONY PLASMA XBR 900 IN NEAR FUTURE. THANKS.
Kenlu, I'll offer my experience when purchasing mt plasma on line. I ordered a 50" Pio 503 cmx from Dell home computers at less than half the price that a birck and mortar wnated for it (same display as the Elite with a different bezel). It arrived in perfects shape, and yes the warranty is valid. In fact Dell was running a deal with an extra year (total of 2 years).

I sedond Jet's advice regarding the avs site. Everything you could ever want to know can found in this chat room. As far as great on line plasma vendors, Lisa at www.plsamexteme.us gets great reviews from the avs members and is an active participant there as well.

The above post is correct with regard to Fujitsu and on line dealers. They do not authoruze the sale of their plasmas on line, and as auch, will not honor a the warranty. Pioneer, Panasonic, and NEC allow for on line sales and wdo honor their warranties.

Had it not been for the ridiculous price form Dell, I would have gone with the Panny 42" from plasmaextreme.

Anyway, I would check out the avs site, it was invaluable for me when I started down this road.

Best of luck and feel free to send me an e-mail if you have any questions.

I live in NYC and plan to purchase online at hopefully in the not so distant furure. There are a few authorized online sellers of plasma screens with excellent reputations. For a ton of info on the subject, check out the plasma forum at avsforum.com.

As was stated above, Fujitsu will NOT honor their generous 3 year warranty on online purchases. However, I've never heard this being an issue with Panasonic, Pioneer, Samasung and others.

A very safe dealer for example, is Dell.com, specially when they run their 15% off deals and free shipping. Their customer service isn't great but they authorized dealers for Panny, Pioneer plus others & have a 30 day return policy (refund or exchange).

When it comes to Large Tv's , its always possible to get a lemon. That said, in addition to the warranty issues, it could turn the transaction into a nightmare.
You buy a Plasma on line you will have NO warrantee NO MATTER what they tell you.Companies like Fujitsu will NOT honor any warrantee.Call them, they will tell you themselves.
