I have been using the Opera Plateas for almost six months in my main system. The Plateas replaced Acoustic Research 302 full range speakers that I had used for 8 years. The associated components are:
Prima Luna Prologue 5 tube amplifier (6550 tubes)
Musical Fidelity CD PRE 24 preamp/cd player
SONY SCD555ES SACD player
Better Cables interconnects
Signal Cable speaker cables
The Plateas are beautifully made, smallish floorstanders. They have a warm, pleasing, and clear sound to them. Both vocals and instruments have a good amount of detail to them. I listen to CDs and SACDs and I do not experience any listening fatigue with the Plateas. They sound good at low levels, a plus if you listen at night.
