New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

I just applied TC and want to add my impression to these discussions. Before applying, I contacted Tim the other day concerning application to the various contacts. Tim was most informative and very genuine. We spoke at least 20 minutes and he answered all my questions so I felt quite confident prior to the application.

Application went very smoothly on all my components which took about 2 hours. This included 10 power cords, both on the male pins on the cables and in the components IEC sockets; 7 RCA/ SPDIF cables and the outer socket shell on the components; 4 fuses; speaker spades, SR XOT banana pins; 6 SR power warts and connections. I did not apply any to the electrical feeds to the receptacles which I may do later. I did not use the supplied gloves but it was easy to wash off with soap and water. I used approximately .5ml TC on all these contacts so there is enough for 2 additional systems.

Now to the sound. My dedicated sound room is 13x18x7 with a suspended acoustical ceiling, area rug and acoustic panels placed at specific locations. The speakers are approximately 4’ from the front wall and 3’ from side walls and 7’ apart. My listening position is 8’ from the speakers. The first thing I noticed was a larger soundstage which also extended forward. There is also more pop in the music. Voices and instruments were cleaner and clearer. Digital glare on poorer recordings was reduced. This is truly a great product and tweak to my system. I’ve tried various tweaks throughout the years and not all have made a difference or improvement. I’m looking forward to any further improvement over the next 8 week break in period.

BTW- I want to thank Frank for starting this post and responding to my personal questions.
resolution1,

I'm glad you are finding the same results even by applying TC a little at time. Tim had recommended I treat all connections at the same time so I could hear the total impact. I believe it was well worth the investment even if some say it's too expensive. If this product is too expensive, why do they spend so much on equipment and cables when there are so many great products for a fraction of the cost.

I just applied TC to 6 12AU7 and 4 KT77 tubes without any incident. Thanks for your advices.
It's time to stop the arguments and try the product. I don't feel it's necessary at this point to apply TC to my electrical system. The improvement is incredible after just applying TC to my components. I'm hearing such detail even from background vocals and instruments. As I said previously, the music is projected further into the room and so much cleaner and clearer. My system has been elevated more so than any other product or component in the past 40+ years.

I would like to hear other opinions of this incredible product instead of all the negativity on these forums lately.
There was no reason to have a blind since I was able to hear an immediate change to my system which was not so subtle. As I stated in my first impression, the music was cleaner and clearer. The soundstage was bigger and the music extended forward on all music. I found it difficult to ascertain any differences on some tweaks but not with TC. By far, this product made the most impact of any tweak or cable in my system.
Fleschler,

I considered buying the speaker HFTs to work with my FEQ, but decided to purchase TC instead. I'm not sure if my system would benefit from adding the HFTs at this point. I tried the original HFTs on the walls with no improvement to my system and I do not wish to upgrade the FEQ to the XL4. Any thoughts?
Fleschler- thanks for your response and opinion. Since I'm very happy with TC, I feel no need to add the HFTs.

It would not be practical and profitable for Tim to sell such a small quantity and recoup the r&d that went into this product and then make a profit as Frank stated. Besides the product, the package includes the syringe, applicator brush, 6 well palette, gloves and instructions. Remember Tim is one person and not a large corporation. The price seems a bit steep but the results are worth it. I’ve spent a lot more on other tweaks over the years with minimal results.

As Frank also stated, try sharing the product with friends to reduce your cost. If anyone wishes to try a sample of mine, I would gladly come to their house and apply it myself. I live in Staten Island so anyone interested please send me a PM.
Frank,

I didn't think you were that old, maybe 78 :-). Honestly I would have guessed late 60s from your responses. I'm glad you can still hear these things at your age. I'm only 60 and have early stages of tinnitus so I doubt I be able to make out anything by the time I'm your age.

Regards, Ron

Slaw- Frank was trying to convey his enthusiasm for this product just like the fuse thread he started. Frank is a gentleman but I can’t blame him for being defensive due to the negative comments and criticism he has received endorsing these products. I read every comment on this thread from the beginning and feel Frank response to you and others were justified.

If you found a product you like, wouldn’t you want to endorse it on these forums? How would you feel and respond if you received negative comments from those who never tried it? Why must individuals respond with such negativity with no justification.

Believe it or not Frank was reluctant to try TC as was I and others. But his description of TC encouraged me to try this product in which I'm grateful. I'm so amazed with this product that I sent my unused portion to 2 other audiogoners to try with no charge. We need to encourage and assist each other in this wonderful hobby instead of trying to discourage.
@ultimatezap

I totally agree with you concerning the increased volume after applying TC. The volume setting on my PL integrated amp is lower than usual plus I had to re-adjust the volume setting on my sub since it became too over powering.

I must also add that I can now listen at a lower volume and still hear the finer detail and dynamics of the music. I now enjoy listening without having to increase the volume.

BTW- I applied TC to the tube pins without any consequences. Just apply to about 1/3 and you should be fine.

You are a recent member and are already arguing with other members. Grow up or leave this forum since you serve no benefit to other members. You, along with some others have recently turned away many long time members from this once civilized and informative forum.
I noticed cd318 is another newcomer with a negative attitude. Maybe he's just the same troll under another name.........

I sent you a PM earlier which should up on your regular email. Try responding back to me and I'll instruct you how to PM.
