I have both of these players and do enjoy them both...the older kyo is very warm and vinyl like, the NAD has better resolution. My question is which would make a better sounding player using a 500 buck dac? Any recommendations for DAC?
I'd go with the Kyo. I have owned an NAD 5000 Monitor Series and a Kyocera DA-610cx. When it came time for one to go I kept the Kyo. For all of the NAD's precision the natural warmth of the Kyo won me over. Plus it's prettier.
