I think you're talking about Luba. Her real name is Lubomira Kowalchyk, she was very active in the 1980's, and ran a group under her name.
Missing Montreal Rock Band
I was listening to the radio the other day, NPR and they were doing an interview with a Montreal Rock/alternative group with a female vocalist. The groups name was something like 'The Louas or Louyas' not at all certain on the spelling. Would love to hear more of them but I have not been able to find any additional info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
