Marantz SA-7S1 filters and noise shaper

Use the filter that works the best with your gear, speakers and room. It was designed this way. The Noise Shaper works great, will improve slam and bass, just check which filter it works best with.

I always use filter one because its the pure unfiltered sound and once the cd player is broken in that is all you need!!!

Forgot to say only inverts phase if using balanced cables.

For SACD use Filter 1. Red book I use either Filter 2 or 3 depending on the CD. I don't use noise shaper. If it is a new player it will sound it's best after a few hundred hours. Enjoy ,it is an excellent player.

A bunch of my friends have the player. Filter 3 is used for all kinds of music. Don't forget to press the invert phase botton on the machine because the player inverts phase.
