Leonard Cohen In Concert--WOW

Leonard Cohen is one of my favorite artists and my wife got us tickets for my birthday present. The concert was at the WAMU Theater in Seattle. The acoustics were great and the lighting was spectacular. Mr. Cohen was in fine voice (OK I know its all relative). The arrangements were wonderful featuring the bandura, a mandolin type instrument which really complimented the tunes. He sang all the greatest hits and has incredible stage presence, literally skipping on stage to start the show. We attend many live shows a year, but I think this was the best concert I've ever attended. If you get the chance don't miss this one. The man is 74 years old, so this may well be his final tour.

I saw him at the MSG event in NYC on Oct,23. It was awesome and will remain one of my all time cherished memories.
I saw him last night in St. Louis. The musicianship of his band is superb. It was a great concert. When I have played his recordings in the past my wife has not been much of a fan. After seeing him live she has changed her mind.
I saw him in Oakland, CA on 4/14, it was also probably the best concert I've ever been to, thoroughly enjoyable, although I like almost all his songs. I'm glad I got to see him, may be the only time. His band all sound great, the backing singers Sharon Robinson and the "sublime" Webb sisters are a wonderful complement to his deep voice.

I bought the London DVD concert to relive the event, and it's pretty good, but not the same as having been there.
I saw an interview with Leonard Cohen once. The interviewer asked him why he always looks so serene and somewhat stiff when he sings. He said: "I can't dance". Hilarious.
