How long is it taking to receive a preamp?

Just heard that timeline for a preamp is still very delayed.

There are numerous reasons why there are delays. Shipping and availability of certain parts is the main reason. However the cost of a lot of stuff like casework prohibits keeping too much stock. I'm a small builder, but you would think large companies like McIntosh would be better.

It always depends on the brand and how lucky/unlucky you are but know transformers and semiconductors have been miserable to source.
