DVD-A on Krell and Trivista and DV-50 question

I went to audition players yesterday and was surprised to see both the Krell and Trivista play DVD-A disks that I brought. I haven't seen much written up about the players' ability to play DVD-A disks. For the Trivista, how does the audio play? I assume its read as SACD, but plays through the CD path. Sounded pretty good (through probably not at the highest SACD resolution). Can these players play the high-resolution 2 channel layers?
Was going to get a DV-50, but the Trivista sounded better to me (I brought a headphone amp and Etys for auditioning).

For those with DV-50s, does the DV-50 have some kind of bass management? Me and my friend had a problem hearing the bass from the DV-50 (on SACD and CD). We were wondering if the unit had bass routed to a subwoofer.

The Tri-Vista plays DVD-A? News to me and I own one....I'll have to look into that. Yes, it plays high-rez 2 channel, it's a 2 channel only unit.
The Trivista played my Buena Vista Social Club DVD-A disk. Sounded pretty good too.
Does it play the disc but at the resolution that a DVD player might (i.e., a 16 bit/44khz version)? I recall reading that SACD players could read DVD discs, but might not be able to get the full 24/96 resolution.
I have owned the DV-50 for about six months, and have never found it lacking in bass. I am using the balanced two-channel outputs. Are you using the player's multichannel outputs in a surround system? I get lots of good tight bass in my two-channel system without utilizing any kind of bass management.
